You must be busy typing on your keyboard at work but in the midst of it, do check out the date today. It is September 13 – Friday the 13th to be precise and needless to mention, the internet is freaking out. Friday the 13th is regarded as an unlucky date and God help those who are superstitious enough.

It is primarily a western concept but other parts of the world are pretty much convinced about the ‘unlucky date’ as well. Many people believe that encountering a black cat brings ill luck as does opening a black umbrella indoors – especially if these happen on Friday the 13th . Some also avoid buying apartments on the 13th floor while certain hotels avoid having rooms on that particular floor.

Some people, meanwhile, are of the opinion that Friday the 13th could just get slightly scarier this time considering a full moon will appear today for the first time in over a decade. “There will be a full moon this Friday, which also happens to be, Friday the 13th. The next full moon to land on #FridayThe13th won’t happen until 2049,” several tweeted with pictures that might freak you out.

Most others remembered the American horror franchise, Friday the 13th, in their posts on Twitter. Are you scared?
